Everest
The Everest Region also known as the Khumbu Region, is renowned as the home of the Sherpa people and the legendary Yeti. It promises a truly spectacular trekking experience as home to four of the world’s six tallest peaks. Treks in this region cover not only Everest Base Camp but also Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Solukhumbu, and the striking peak of Ama Dablam. Trekking routes including Kala Patthar, Gokyo Lake, and Tengboche, all set within breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and often include Himalayan villages and glacial valleys, guarded by towering peaks like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.
While trekking and expeditions are the main draws, visitors can also experience Sherpa culture up close as visits to serene villages such as Thame, Khumjung, Tengboche, and Dingboche provide opportunities to explore Sherpa communities and ancient monasteries that preserve Tibetan Buddhism.
Most treks begin with a flight to Lukla, and include a rest day at Namche Bazaar - the gateway to the Khumbu, remains a bustling trading hub where yak caravans carry goods across the Tibetan border - for acclimatization, with optional walks to explore the area.
The Sagarmatha National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site located within the Everest Region—offers stunning mountain views and unique Himalayan flora and fauna. Trekkers can visit some of the world's highest monasteries and witness the majesty of Everest and its surrounding peaks.
