Kathmandu Valley Rim Mountain Biking tour is idyllic and relaxing mountains biking that bring in you to the genuine rural villages of Nepal to one side from the hustle of the busy Kathmandu city. Kathmandu valley rim specify the beautiful hills residents by rhododendron and pine forest, and traditional rural Nepali village’s environments the valley. This Kathmandu Valley rim mountain biking acquire you through the terraced farmlands, emerald hills, pristine forests of rhododendron and pine, traditional villages, sculptured temples and Gompas, and many more. The famous chronological cities like Basantapur, Bhaktapur, Patan durbar square with the artistic temples made up of stones and wooden sculptures. The hill station of Nagarkot which lies at the south east rim of the Kathmandu valley is one of the most famous mountain and sunrise view point near Kathmandu valley. This hill propose the most spectacular view of the majestic mountain like Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal range, Gaurishankar Himal and Mt. Everest Himalayan range.
Kathmandu Valley rim mountain biking starts from the Sundarijal where we initiate cycling uphill through the rhododendron forest passing small farmlands until we meet the jeep track. We cycle uphill where we rest for a while in tea house and further cycling towards the Chisapani we enter the Helambu region. From here we cycle up to the Nagarkot. Chisapani and Nagarkot offer the breath taking view of the spectacular mountain range ranging from Gaurisankhar to Annapurna. After visualize the beautiful and inspiring scenery of mountain and sunrise we then cycle some of remarkable up and downhill to reach the famous monastery of Namobuddha. You also visit the golden farmland of historical city of Panauti where you visit some of traditional Newari village where you get to know the real lifestyle of rural Nepali people and their rich culture. Now we start cycling toward Godavari hill via one of the pass to enter Kathmandu valley called Lakure bhanjyang. Here in Godavari you can visit a Royal Botanical Garden. From Godavari we cycle back to Kathmandu via Hattibaan and en route you visit a famous Hindu temple of Dakshinkali.
This mountain biking is an exciting and challenging trip that takes you through the mixed single track, jeep tract and somewhere country road. Since the route is quiet demanding and technical it requires off road biking experience

Day 1: Ride to Nagarkot Via Changunarayan
We will start our trip at 9:00 am to Changunarayan, riding through Balkot -Thimi – Bhaktapur (Apprx. 22 km). We briefly visit Changunarayan temple and its surrounding, which is situated on a beautiful hillock overlooking lush green fields and mountain Panorama. Changunarayan is the oldest monument in the documented history of Nepal. We shall have a packed lunch on the way to Telkot. After a brief rest, with recharged energy, we start riding towards magnificent Nagarkot through Telkot Forest Reserve. Upon arrival we shall check-in at the hotel. If you desire, you can browse around the surrounding area indulging yourself to a magnificent mountain vista on a clear day. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Ride from Nagarkot to Balthali via Panauti
Today our day starts with 3kms of paved black topped uphill ride till the Nagarkot view tower to gaze the beauty of Kathmandu Valley provided the sky is clear and then we head downhill towards Nala. We choose our trail depending upon the skill of the rider as it can jeep track ride or technical route. From Nala we ride towards sleepy settlement of Balthali village via Banepa, Panauti & Khopasi for almost 25 kms; which rests at the junction of Roshi and LadkuKhola rivers. Situated on a hamlet, Balthali (1650 m) is an outstanding place of isolation and relaxation amidst a surrounding of typical Nepali countryside with terraced rice fields and ochre thatched farmhouses. The peaks of DorjeeLhakpa, Langtang and whole eastern mountain range rests clear and bright on the northern horizon and lush green high hill of Mahabharat Range rests in the south. Nature lovers and bird watchers can spend days exploring and discovering some exceptional piece of nature, culture and rural traditions. Overnight at the resort.
Day 3: Ride Balthali to Lakuribhanjyang via Panauti
After a breakfast at the village resort. Our ride begins at 8:00 am. We ride through a historical town, ‘Panauti’. Panauti is believed to have been established in the times of epical Mahabharata war, is full of temple and shrines of historical significance. Three hours of uphill ride of approximately 17 kms from Panauti will take us to ‘Lakuribhanjyang’ a perfect destination for awe-inspiring panoramic views of the mountain and sight of the three cities (Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur) from the altitude of 1994m. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Ride Lakuribhanjyang to Godavari via Bishankunarayan
Our day starts will perfect 6kms downhill all the way till Lamatar. Then 5 km of uphill ride will take us to the top of the hill named ‘Kotdanda’ and then down to Bishankunarayan temple. And we head towards the resort at Godavari through up and down ride. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Ride Ride Godavari via Raj Khulo
Final day of our ride will be mainly a relaxed ride via Raj khulo and other ancient typical Newari township of Lalitpur Valley. The riding trail can be as per the riding skills of the rider. The best part of today’s ride will be of having an option of riding through majority of ride-able single track ride for those who love such trails.
