Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu then drive to Kopan home-stay area
Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, Snow Leopard Trek will arrange to pick you up from the airport. You will then be transferred to Kapan, a village in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. The Kapan Monastery at Kapan Hill, also known as the Nepal Buddhist Mahayana Centre, is a major meditation center near Kathmandu. The people of Kapan have also developed home-stay programs for the development of their village. The village also offers panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. Overnight in Kapan.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath
After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing tour by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th centuries. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva. The Bauddhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia which is built on the ancient trade route to Tibet.
Day 03: Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur
Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient arts and architecture. We also visit Bhakatpur, an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, we get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambiance of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. We also immerse ourselves in the authentic delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur. Overnight in Kapan.
Day 04: Drive to Pokhara: 213 km, 5-6 hours
After breakfast, we leave Kathmandu for Pokhara, also known as The Lake City owing to the large number of lakes it has. This will be a journey along river banks with wonderful views of hills and the rural lifestyle of the Nepalese. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,794ft), Manaslu (8,156m/26,759ft), Machhapuchhre (6,993m/22,943ft), the five peaks of Annapurna and others. We may also stroll in the streets of Pokhara and just enjoy being in one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 05: Pokhara to Tansen: 126 km, 3-4 hours
Today we drive to Tansen which is a hill town that offers excellent views of the snow-covered Himalayan peaks. On clear days, it is possible to see the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Gauri Shankar and others. Tansen is also famous for hand-woven Dhaka cloth, also used to make the Nepali national cap (Topi). Overnight in Tansen.
Day 06: Hike to Sirubari
Sirubari is a rural village located in the Syangja district of Nepal. The hills of the village are known for providing panoramic views of Mt. Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Hiunchuli. The village has been developed as a home-stay village owing to its natural beauty and hospitable villagers. While staying here, we will be entertained with traditional dancing and singing which will help us understand the rural culture of the area. Overnight in Sirubari.
Day 07: Tour of Sirubari
We spend a whole day touring the village of Sirubari. Upon closer look, we begin to notice that Sirubari is not just rich in natural beauty, but it’s also equally rich in art, culture and tradition. While here, we also get to enjoy the pristine natural springs that originate from the Himalayas. We also visit Thumro Juro, a viewpoint popular for its amazing views of the sunrise over the Himalayas. Overnight in Sirubari.
Day 08: Tour of Sirubari then drive to Pokhara
We tour the beautiful village of Sirubari and try and connect with the locals and how they spend their day. We then retrace our steps back to Pokhara where we check in to our hotel. We can also spend the evening in the lakeside area of Phewa lake to shop for souvenirs or just for enjoying the lake city’s general splendor. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu
After breakfast, we say goodbye to the beautiful northern skyline of Pokhara and drive towards Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, we take rest or do some souvenir shopping. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Final departure
Our adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Snow Leopard Trek will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
