Himalayan Stove Distribution
Snow Leopard Trek and Trans-Himalayan Environmental Livelihood Program (T-HELP) distribute fuel efficient stoves to the communities of the remote Makalu region. Fuel efficient stoves help with environment conservation through the reduced use of timber for firewood, reduce global warming, benefit the health of the local population from reduced exposure to firewood smoke, and help in livelihood generation. Thanks to Eileen Rogers, George Basch, and the Himalayan Stove Project for the stoves and Pasang Sherpa (CA Member from Sankhuwasabha) for the coordination.
