Day 01: Arrival and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.
After arrival, snow leopard representative will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu/Lukla by schedule flight & trek to Phakding (2610 m.)
Lukla is a Sherpa village located in the Khumbu region of Solukhumbu district. Immediately after landing in Lukla you will observe the chill of the Himalayas and will experience the friendly and welcome faces of the people of the Everest region.
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
The trail continues north up the Dudh Kosi valley to Jorsale, where the trail officially enters the Sagarmatha National Park. There is an entrance station just beyond the village where National Park entrance fees are collected. Continue along the trail, crossing the Bhote Kosi River to begin the steep climb up to Namche Bazaar (3440 m.), the administrative center of the Sagarmatha National Park and the hub of Sherpa community life. Remember to look out for glimpses of Mt. Everest from the trail on the way to Everest. From Namche a clear sky offers views of Mt. Kwongde (6187m), Thamserku (6608m) and Kusum Kangaru (6369m) right at Gokyo and you can enjoy the serenity of these lakes amidst spectacular mountain views.
Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Khumjung
This day involves around 3 hours of trek to the serene Sherpa villages of Khunde 3890 m and Khumjung 3790 m. Sir Edmund Hillary established his first school and hospital in these villages. The Khumbi Yul Lha ( 5761 m) is located in Khumjung and is also the local mountain deity of the Sherpa people. You will find a thriving old Sherpa community and village life in Khumjung, which has schools, monasteries and also the Yeti’s skull. From Khumjung on a clear day you view Mt. Everest (8848 m) at a distance. Khumjung also offers views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6814 m), Thamserku (6608m), Kang Tega (6783 m) and Tawoche Peak ( 6542 m).
Day 05: Khumjung to Dole
Trek from Khumjung to Dole (4040 m.) and it takes about five and half hours. Stay overnight at tea house.
Day 06: Dole to Machhermmo
Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4150m) and it takes about five hours. From Dole we climb steadily along the side of the valley, where the rhododendron forests give way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases. The trail passes many summer settlements [yersa], which are used when yaks are taken to these pastures to graze in the summer months. Ahead of us are excellent views of Cho Oyu, while at the rear are the peaks of Kantega and Thamserku. Today’s trek is a short one and we will arrive at Machermo in time for lunch. Stay overnight at tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 07: Machhermmo to Gokyo
Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4750m) which takes about four and half hours. Today, we climb up to the ridge and can be seen excellent view both down the valley to Khangtega and northern part to the Cho-Oyu (8153m/26741ft). Our route descends to the river bank before beginning the climb up to the terminal moraine of the Ngazumpa glacier. Afterwards the trail levels out as it follows the valley past a second lake, known as Longponga at 4690m/15383ft. Enjoy the lake view and after an hour walk will reaches at Gokyo village on the edge of third lake. Stay overnight at tea house. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 08: Visit Gokyo-Ri and back to Gokyo
Explore Gokyo Lake and then climbe Gokyo Ri peak, which takes around 3-4 hrs. The summit of Gokyo Ri offers spectacular views of Makalu, Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Bhorunche, and many other surrounding peaks. You can also witness the famous Lungsamba Glaciers that contribute water to the Dhud Kosi river.
Day 09: Visit Five Lakes and Back to Gokyo
Explore five lakes for around 4-5 hrs. You will be able to view the Nagzhumba glacier and will also get good views of Makalu, Everest Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, Pumori and the other smaller peaks. Return back to Gokyo for overnight.
Day 10: Gokyo to Thore
The return journey from Gokyo to Namche is via the other side of the Dhudkoshi river, which will eventually take us to Tenboche. Hence, the trek is almost a small circuit and will not follow the same trail back to Namche but will follow a different bank of the Dhudkoshi river to get to Tengboche.
Day 11: Thore to Tengboche
Upon reaching Tengboche, you can visit the famous Tengboche monastery which is responsible for the revival of Tibetan Buddhism in the Sherpa homeland. Tengboche Monastery is the spiritual center of the Sherpa people and is also the monastery where several Buddhist festivals such as the Mani Rimdu takes place.
Day 12: Tengboche to Monjo
From Tengboche the return journey is mostly a downhill walk and the trail crosses the famous village of Namche Bazaar and you will spend overnight at Monjo just before your exit of the Sagarmatha National Park.
Day 13: Monjo to Lukla
From Monjo, the descent back to the Dudh Kosi at Jorsale is a bit rough on the knees, but the warmer climate offers a good opportunity to finally shed down-filled jackets and woolen jumpers. You will be checked out of the park with the help of our trekking guide at Jorsale and show the permit to prove that you duly paid for the use of national park facilities And descend the way to Phakding. The route descends to Lukla 2860m. Lukla has a good choice of accommodation and is the last day of your trek. Overnight in Lukla
Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu flight.
You will take the 35 minutes morning return flight to Kathmandu from Lukla.
Day 15: Departure transfer.
Snow Leopard representative will pick you up from your hotel to drop you at the international airport for departure.
