Day 1: Arrival transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu/Pokhara by flight or by drive.
Day 3: Pokhara/ Nayapul by reserve vehicle & trek to Tikhedhunga (1570 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2850 m.) (5 -6 hrs walk)
Day 5: Trek to Tadapani (2540 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
Day 6: Trek to Chhomrong (2050 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
Day 7: Trek to Bamboo (2340 m.) (5 -6 hrs walk)
Day 8: Trek to Deurali (2834 m.) (5 -6 hrs walk)
Day 9: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m), 3 – 4 hrs walk.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m), 2 – 3 hrs walk.
Day 11: Trek to Dovan (2606 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
Day 12: Trek to Chhomrong (2050 m.) (5 to 6 hrs walk),
Day 13: Chhomrung to Ghandrung (1951 m.) (4 to 5 hrs walk),
Day 14: End trek, Via NayaPul drive back to Pokhara (819 m.) (5 – 6 hrs)
Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus or Flight. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 16: Departure transfer to international airport.
Day 1: Arrival transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.
A Snow Leopard Trek representative will be there at the airport to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. A short briefing about your adventure (Annapurna Base camp trek) in Nepal. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu/Pokhara by flight or by drive.
Either drive to Pokhara or take the 25 minutes flight to Pokhara.Overnight at Pokhara.
Day 3: Pokhara/ Nayapul by reserve vehicle & trek to Tikhedhunga (1570 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
Drive to Nayapul, the trek start point. After trekking around 4-5 hours from Nayapul to Tikhedunga we will reach our first night in hotel.
Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani (2850 m.) (5 -6 hrs walk)
Tikhedunga to Ghorepani is around 6 hours of walking. You ascend steeply for the first 2 hours and then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti. On a clear day you will get good views of Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.), and Annapurna (7219 m) south on the way.
Day 5: Trek to Tadapani (2540 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
The total walking hours for today is around five to six hours. Early morning hike to Poon Hill (3210 m) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountains. Hike down to Ghorepani after enjoying the sun rise view, have a hot breakfast at guest House/Lodge and trek to Tadapani (2650 m.). The trail follows the rhododendron forest. During spring time the entire forest is colorful.
Day 6: Trek to Chhomrong (2050 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
The total walking hours for today is around six hours. The trail is relatively easy mostly descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. You could hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way to Kimrung Khola. Chhomrong is the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary (Base Camp) trek and inhabited by Gurung, one of the major Ethnic groups of Nepal.
Day 7: Trek to Bamboo (2340 m.) (5 -6 hrs walk)
Leaving Chhomrong the trail descends to cross the Chhomrong Khola on a suspension bridge, then climb high above the Modi Khola on it’s west bank. The trail then ascends through the villages of Tilche and Sinuwa and finally reaches Kuldi at 2350m. From here the trail descends a long, steep stone staircase into bamboo and rhododendron forests and eventually we reach the small settlement of Bamboo Lodge at 2340 m.
Day 8: Trek to Deurali (2834 m.) (5 -6 hrs walk)
From Bamboo to Hotel Himalaya is a smooth ascent through the dark Rhododendron forest. On the way, there are numerous tiny streams to cross, the tributaries of Modi Stream, which drip down the Giant rocky cliff. The origin of these tiny streams is the melted Glacier of Himchuli. From Hotel Himalaya, the path rapidly goes up till Hinku cave, then little ups & downs to Deurali. The area is totally dominated by giant Machhapuchare
Day 9: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m), 3 – 4 hrs walk.
From here the valley widens up and the vegetation thins up. One can even feel thin air climbing to Machhapuchhre Base camp. You can even go all the way to Annapurna Base Camp if you feel like it.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m), 2 – 3 hrs walk.
After breakfast we start early and make the 2 hours trek to Annapurna Base Camp at 4130 m. The trail continues upwards, on a good path, to the south of the moraine. This is the highlight of the trip and affords us marvelous close up views of the mountains that make up this incredible natural amphitheatre. On arrival at ABC we get a superb view of the near vertical south face of Annapurna.
Day 11: Trek to Dovan (2606 m.) (4 – 5 hrs walk)
From the Sanctuary we initially retrace our steps, and descend to Deorali, through Himalayan Hotel, and eventually to Dovan where we spend the night. We cover the ground a lot quicker on the way down taking advantage of our acclimatization and the reducing altitude.
Day 12: Trek to Chhomrong (2050 m.) (5 to 6 hrs walk)
From Dovan we continue back down the trail, through Bamboo Lodge, and to Chhromrong where we spend the night. This is a short day and allows us to spend some time relaxing in this fascinating village which has some of the best mountain views in the world.
Day 13: Chhomrung to Ghandrung (1951 m.) (4 to 5 hrs walk)
Today we stop retracing our steps and trek to the Gurung village of Ghandruk. We initially walk west on the trail that leads to Ghorapani, but then descend to the village of Khumnu. We cross the Khumnu Khola and then ascend steeply to a collection of tea-houses at Uri at 2220m. From here we can see Ghandruk ahead, and it is a gentle walk to this amazing Gurung settlement at 1970m. Ghandruk is a maze of narrow alleyways but is an ideal place to spend an afternoon wandering the streets enjoying the local food or learning about the local handicrafts.
Day 14: End trek, Via NayaPul drive back to Pokhara (819 m.) (5 – 6 hrs)
Trek downhill through villages and terraced fields to Syauli Bazaar, then onto Nayapul before being transported back to Pokhara for an overnight stay.
Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus or Flight. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Pokhara to Kathmandu bus transfer is around 7-8 hours and flight time is around 25 minutes.
Day 16: Departure transfer to international airport.
