Lower Dolpo Trek 18 Days Tea House/Camping
This trek to remote and unspoilt region in western Nepal starts with a flight to Nepalgunj and to a mountain strip at Juphal. The true adventure starts with a walk through terraced fields to the Bheri River with its narrow gorge and continue to Dunai - the administrative headquarter of the Dolpo region.
Traditionally, this was once a rock salt trading route where the locals would venture out into Tibet and transport rock salt on yaks and goats to trade (barter) with grains, cooking oil and other goods with the low land people. This practice had continued for centuries and may still be prevalent in some pockets of the region.
This outstanding trekking experience heads to Tarakot, Nawarpani to Dho Tarap. We prepare for the assault on Numa La and Baga La into Ringmo. We visit the hidden gem of the Himalaya the Phoksundo Lake to reflect on life amidst the tranquil water. The return leg follows Shuli River to Juphal for the flight back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.
