This more than 1000 km journey starts with an early morning drive to the border post of Rasuwa in Nepal. The lush green vegetation of the south slowly unfolds to jagged mountain peaks. The route is via Polku Tso (lake) where the views of the snow peaks seem to lance the sky.  As the drive progresses, the sights become more captivating and awesome on the deserted barren landscape. The view of Xixapangma – the smallest among the 8000+ peaks and Cho You comes into view as the tour heads toward Xegar.  The tour continue further to Gyantse and to Lhasa via the magnificent awe inspiring Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise lake). Lhasa city tour of 3 days is all captivating and with cultural immersion experience into the Tibetan tradition of arts, architecture and lifestyles.

The return leg is via the northern route to Xigatse and with a visit the Tashilunpo Monastery which houses a bronze 26.2meters Maitreya – the Future Buddha on a 3.5 meters high lotus seat overlooking the entire monastery -  a truly spiritual significance.   From here the quest for the Everest Base Camp initiates via Rongbuk. The facilities are limited and primitive though the awe inspiring and glorious views will certainly compensate. The return journey back to Kathmandu is the same route via Xegar and Kyirong.
