Manaslu Trek 12-13 Days
The trekking trail follows an ancient salt-trading route along the Budhi Gandaki River. En route, 10 peaks over 6,500 metres are visible, including a few over 7,000 metres. The highest point reached along the trek route is Larkya La at an elevation of 5,106 metres.
The trip begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Arughat bazaar and further to Ekle Bhatti. The trek starts at the town of Soti Khola passing through bamboo forests and Gurung villages. After Lho village we enter the Nupri region inhabited by Tibetan immigrants where you will see colorful prayer flags, mani walls and monasteries along the way.
After Samdo village we start the approach towards the Larkya La pass, crossing this high Himalayan pass is a challenging day although would be a good objective for a fit walker with no previous mountaineering experience. The view from the Larkya La is superb where you will see Himal Chuli, Manaslu, Cheo Himal and Himlung Himal mountains. Gorkha to Khanchok to Deurali to Gumda to Jagat to Philim to Bihi to Namrung to Samagaun and finally the Larkya Pass to descend to the Marshyangdi Khola (river).
